GB sharing the BJJ experience with the Marines
Earlier this month Professor Flavio Almeida and Coaches Felipe Guedes, Charles Gomes and Kanai Brown, were invited by Warrant Officer Joe Saenz, to come to Camp Pendleton. Joe is also a GBSC Jiu Jitsu student and he wanted them to share with his group of Marines some Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) techniques and philosophy that can help them with one-on-one combat.
We are always impressed by how in shape the marines are. Joe’s group is going through a special martial arts training and it was great to see them absorbing all the knowledge passed on by Professor Flavio.
Professor Flavio taught these Marines the roots of our art and they learned the evolution of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu techniques that could help them in combat. The mind of a fighter, a true martial artist, is sharper than anything else and will help them to always have the best reaction and to make the best decisions in any situation.
After the class the Marines had a great training session with the Gracie Barra San Clemente Team Members. The GBSC Team would like to thank Warrant Officer Joe Saenz for the opportunity to go there and train with his marines.
Here are some pictures of the Marines and GBSC team:
