About Gracie Barra

The Gracie Barra School in Irvine is well known in the Martial Arts community worldwide for its commitment to teaching high level Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Our black belt instructors Marcio Feitosa, Andre Fernandes, Marco Joca, Phillipe Della Monica and Marcelo Souza have trained under legendary Master Carlos Gracie Jr., at the original Gracie Barra Academy, located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Under Master Carlos' tutelage, Marcio, Andre, Marco, Phillipe and Marcelo extensive knowledge of the "gentle art" was formed on the same mats as same of the best Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructors and fighters ever known. Now they are based here in Orange County.

We are also very fortunate to have Master Carlos Gracie Jr. himself training and teaching at our school. Master Carlos spends half of his year here training himself and teaching us, and our students have a unique opportunity to learn directly from a teacher who has molded and formed many of the greatest athletes and instructors in our sport. Additionally, we are also fortunate enough to have some of the greatest athletes involved in the sport visit us and share their knowledge with us.
